'The Junkyard' is just one example that encapsulates Ramy’s creative, innovative and environmentally conscious mindset. It involves the creation of a restaurant and bar concept fully constructed from shipping containers, reclaimed junk and recycled materials.
But more than that, it is a social commentary. It brings people together, rich, poor, creative, curious, into a space built from what others threw away. It dares people to rethink what's valuable. It flips the narrative.
Built in the heart of Beirut, amidst the remnants of past conflicts and during a time when the city was drowning in garbage crisis and uncertainty.
Spanning 1,200 square meters and crafted from12 rugged shipping containers stacked, layered, and transformed to create a two-story establishment. It’s more than a restaurant and bar. It’s a living, breathing experience. With a rooftop lounge accessed by an industrial lift, garden bar, indoor space, and the capacity to hold 500 people, it became a cultural force. All born from waste, rust, and a vision.
Every corner is a story:
A 1936 tractor reborn as a bar. The back of a garbage truck turned into a private VIP dining pod. Steel, scrap, and forgotten objects given new life with soul.
To me, discarded materials carry history. They’re not waste - they’re waiting. And when you use them with emotion and purpose, they become more than sustainable , they become unforgettable.
I envisioned and built this project from the first spark of the idea to the final detail, no plans in hand, no architects, no engineers, just grit, passion, and a team I trained to execute every inch under my obsessive eye. From foundations to furniture, I touched it all. Adjusted. Finessed. Until each piece of junk told a different story.
It wasn’t just built. It was resurrected.
