In the historic city of Byblos, just steps from the ancient port and timeless castle, Ayla emerges. A space that gently bridges thousands of years of history with a fresh, modern spirit.
I created and executed Ayla with intention and speed, Ayla was more than just a renovation. It was a reimagining. What once stood as a decaying structure has now become a layered sensory experience, warm, creative, and alive.
At its heart: a custom-built bar, crafted from a lattice of raw steel pipes. Functional, sculptural, and unmistakably bold, it anchors the space with quiet strength. From the soft wash of ambient lighting woven into the walls, to a steel-framed central tree entwined with greenery, hand-painted murals bring depth and warmth, offering moments of discovery with every glance.
A canopy rises overhead, soaring to 7 meters high, creating openness and scale without overpowering. Beneath it, the outdoor terrace offers a seamless flow between interior and exterior, an invitation to linger, gather, and take in Byblos in all its magic.
Ayla was built to feel timeless. Not just a restaurant, but a reflection of its surroundings: storied, soulful, and ready for what's next.
