In the creative heart of Gemmayzeh, a raw, decaying shell of a space was reborn into a gallery pulsing with energy, light, and soul, executed to perfection by Ramy, for none other than the brilliant architect and furniture designer Karina Sukar.
When Karina, an internationally celebrated name in Lebanese architecture known for her daring lines and sculptural furniture, chose me to bring her personal gallery to life, I understood this wasn't just another execution job. This was a mission of precision, trust, and uncompromising taste.
Karina's gallery design was bold: modern yet aged, raw yet refined. I took this vision and ran full force into its transformation. Every material, every corner, every bolt mattered. Collaborating closely, we navigated challenges and led the complete site transformation from ground up - stripping it back, reinforcing the structure, and injecting new life into forgotten stone and steel.
The 6-meter-high ceiling became the breath of the space. A steel mezzanine and custom stairs were engineered with surgical precision to float between industrial minimalism and timeless presence. The cement floors, glass facades, and raw stone wallsweren't just materials, they were characters in the narrative. Even the entrance, framed by a bespoke metal door, was designed to signal this wasn't just a showroom - it was a mood, a statement, a portal to Karina's world.
Lighting was treated as sculpture - every beam calibrated to elevate Karina's iconic pieces without stealing their thunder. The final result: an immersive, gallery-like experience where architecture and objects intertwined in harmony.
This gallery stands as a symbol of our collaboration, a space where design meets dedication, and where every corner reflects a shared commitment to excellence.
